American Family Insurance raises employee minimum pay to $23 an hour

February 10, 2022

With the intent to “draw and retain talent,” American Family Insurance (AmFam) has announced it is raising its minimum hourly wage to $23 an hour.

The wage increase will take effect in July, affecting over 2,000 employees at AmFam group companies in roles including customer-facing positions in call centers, claims, and other areas. AmFam also noted in a release that this is its second minimum wage increase in two years.

“American Family strives to be an employer of choice, and compensation is one way to achieve that by remaining competitive in a tight job market,” said AmFam chief people officer Tracy Schweitzer. “This increase recognizes the importance of having top talent to provide exceptional service to our customers, while helping employees develop successful careers here.”
